Science Teaching Survey 2025

Thank you for taking part in the fourth Science Teaching Survey. Your views are critical in helping us to build up a current and accurate picture of what it's like to work in science education. Responses from previous editions of the survey have helped us to amplify the voices of teachers and technicians, and to advocate for change more effectively with policy makers.

You can view findings, actions and outcomes from previous surveys here: The Science Teaching Survey 2024: a summary of the findings.

This year the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is working with partner organisations from the Institute of Physics, the Royal Society of Biology, the Association for Science Education, and the Royal Society. Your feedback is valuable and will help us to better tailor and focus our support.

The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete. It includes optional demographic questions, about your gender, age and ethnicity, to help us understand more about the science workforce in the UK and ROI. Findings from this research will be available to the public. However, all responses will be strictly confidential and will be aggregated for analysis to ensure your anonymity. The RSC will collect the data for analysis and provide an anonymised data set to to partnering organisation (ASE, IOP, RS and RSB), who will also review the survey responses. This data set will include the optional demographic questions but exclude personal information where collected (i.e. name, email, school name, school postcode).
